Coronado Family Photographer, the Deguia family

My oldest is a sophomore in high school.  When your kids hit middle school, it becomes much more apparent how close you are to high school graduation.  And with Tucker, now that he is a sophomore, I only have three years.  The future of him leaving for school or moving out of our home or whatever he decides to do is so visible.  I know what can happen in three years…. just yesterday, it was three years ago.

When this family called to schedule their session, the main reason for the shoot was because their oldest was leaving for college in just a few weeks.  I wish I could tell every parent out there how important it is to get some photos during this last summer with each of their kids before they are off on their own.  Being with this family reminded me to one, take more photos (even if I get the terrible faces) of my kids, and two, just how close we are to doing the exact same thing… sending our oldest go off to college.

Our session was fun and carefree.  I loved it and I think they made such an important to choice to have a photo shoot with all of them together.

Hi There: I have been browsing a little this morning through this blog and have been enjoying it. I love all of your photography and also the last photo on this post – gorgeous.
I am a photographer in Athabasca, Alberta and could only wish for some of the water shots like you have the privilege to get with families. We still have snow this year and looking at your photos with your families makes me envious for sure. Lovely…
