San Diego Newborn Photographer, the Lyon family

We had such a great maternity photo session a few months back.   You can see the highlights from that photoshoot here.  And now we have the newborn session.  I love seeing couples with their first new baby.  I know I have said this before but I remember the birth of my first so clearly and it was just an amazing time.  I get to relive a little of that with each newborn session.  It’s crazy that one day you don’t have a baby and the next you do and everything is different… forever.

Cashton had absolutely no interest in sleeping which is fine by me because I really prefer awake newborn photos.  My style as a photographer is much more relationship oriented and a sleeping baby makes it kind of hard to catch those moments of daily life like feedings and diaper changes and baby gazing.  I also always say I give my clients the images I would want… especially since I don’t have newborn images that are anything other than snapshots.  So while it may feel like your baby will never get bigger than a 3-6 month romper, trust me, they turn 16 before you know it (next Sunday in my case).  And they are a lot bigger than you could ever imagine.

So here are a handful of my favorites from this beautiful newborn session with three week old Cashton and his mom and dad.

Cashton finally did fall asleep while we were looking at albums and we quickly set up a blanket and took a few shots of his sweet sleeping face.

Life is so precious… these little moments only happen once and only an artist can capture these moments in such a way that you did. What a gift you have given them! :)
