Sledding in Del Mar

Thursday | December 31st | 2009 –

Ok, not really sledding… the boys got these new boards for Christmas called Spooners. I think they are made here in San Diego.  I had just done a shoot (sneak peek coming soon) in Del Mar at the beach and the sand was pushed up into big steep hills.  Perfect for the boards.  And today is amazingly beautiful.  And I love the beach in December… love it.  So I pulled my “Please don’t make us do anything but lay around the house” older boys and the fun loving “i’ll go anywhere” Slater to the beach.  And this is what we did.

These were all shot with a little Sony cybershot… when you are used to full creative control with a very good camera, point and shoots kind of suck (and not really just kind of)

San Diego Family Photography | Ruby & her grandkids, Coronado

Family doesn’t just mean mom, dad and kids.  I have photographed a few grandparents and grandkids sessions and they are so fun.  And what an amazing thing to have for years and years.  These kids all grew up in the same neighborhood as their grandma.  They were so fun to photograph and their relationship as cousins and grandkids and grandparent was very touching.  Here are some of my favorites:)

San Diego Family & Baby Photography | three generations in La Jolla

Wednesday | July 22nd | 2009 –

Not a big family session… just a mom, with her mom and her baby.  At the beginning of the session, Livia was not so sure about the photo plan.  But we took her to the beach for the second part of the shoot and then she really wasn’t sure.  So we went back to the neighborhood and she was all smiles, thanking us for removing her from the noisy, hot beach.  Regardless, she was a great and put on a good show.  Again, so many favorites.  Where to begin…

On the home front…

Saturday | June 13th | 2009 –

Summer is finally here.  I hate school.  And I am not even in it.  The boys school work really gets in the way of my fun;)  But thank goodness summer is here and we can do as we please.  April and May is birthday time around here and all three boys are a year older.  They are now 3, 12, and 14.  I still haven’t taken their birthday pictures yet.  So sad.  This week… or maybe next.  We’ll see.  But I will do their photo shoots soon.

For now, here is a picture of Slater on his favorite birthday present… his new scooter.  And the best part is how Slater raises his leg like this when he is “gliding”.   This scooter is by far the best scooter I have seen around and Little Baby Bird Rock has them:)  It’s called the  Mini Micro Scooter by Micro Scooters America.
