San Diego Family Beach Photos | the Mills family, Coronado

Tuesday | August 4th | 2009 –

We are having quite the summer here at my house.  It would be really helpful to live at the beach (even though we are just a few minutes away).  But walking distance would be perfect.  One day:)  The boys are completely hooked on surfing now.  In between our almost daily surf sessions, I have been fitting in a lot of beach family sessions.

This family was visiting from Texas and finished their stay at the Hotel Del.  We ended up with some very overcast skies which is so unlike August but we had a great time.  The kids didn’t disappoint with their enthusiasm.  And we got some great shots of everyone.   Here are some of my favorites:)

San Diego Family Beach Photographer | the Veldhouse family, Mission Beach

Monday | August 3rd | 2009 –

What a fun shoot this was. I think this little guy was the happiest baby I have ever photographed.  He was so cute and so smiley.  Total dream.  I loved this session so much.  And I do love doing family photo shoots in Mission Beach. So it was 2x the greatness. Shawn is the brother of the mom from the other Veldhouse family I shot a few months ago who is really the Stempel family but I always mix up maiden names and married family names… always.   Was that clear:P  These guys were visiting for a few days from New York.  And what visit to San Diego would be complete without a photo session:)

I did a lot of different coloring looks to these images just for the fun of it.  Some are regular and some are ‘vintagized’.  And I really love the black and whites.

I seriously don’t think this could get any cuter!

San Diego Family Beach Photographer | The Henne Family, Coronado

We had a beautiful evening down in Coronado for our photo session.  We decided to do part of the shoot at the house they were vacationing at and the other part at the beach with a little Hotel Del in the background (well, just for a few).

Dear & Yonder Tour Dates

My sister must be so relieved to have her movie done and ready for the tour.  We’ll be going to the Encinitas showing and Santa Cruz.  If you want to see a beautiful movie (I know it’s going to be) about surfing and women, you need to go see this movie.  You probably don’t even need to be a surfer (I am not:P) to enjoy it.  Here are all the dates.  Seriously… go see it.

On the home front…

Saturday | June 13th | 2009 –

Summer is finally here.  I hate school.  And I am not even in it.  The boys school work really gets in the way of my fun;)  But thank goodness summer is here and we can do as we please.  April and May is birthday time around here and all three boys are a year older.  They are now 3, 12, and 14.  I still haven’t taken their birthday pictures yet.  So sad.  This week… or maybe next.  We’ll see.  But I will do their photo shoots soon.

For now, here is a picture of Slater on his favorite birthday present… his new scooter.  And the best part is how Slater raises his leg like this when he is “gliding”.   This scooter is by far the best scooter I have seen around and Little Baby Bird Rock has them:)  It’s called the  Mini Micro Scooter by Micro Scooters America.
