San Diego Children’s Photographer | cute kids in La Jolla

It’s not very often that I photograph just the kids.  It’s very different in some ways to photographing the family.  These two were cute as ever.  Big brother was so great and helpful with his sister.  And amazingly, we have some great ones of her despite her fake sleeping a good lot of the time.  It was actually quite cute but she was serious about not performing.   Two year olds definitely have a mind of their own.  I love so many of these sweet kids.  We were concentrating on the close ups and I think the mission was a success:)

San Diego Family Beach Photos | the Mills family, Coronado

We are having quite the summer here at my house.  It would be really helpful to live at the beach (even though we are just a few minutes away).  But walking distance would be perfect.  One day:)  The boys are completely hooked on surfing now.  In between our almost daily surf sessions, I have been fitting in a lot of beach family sessions.

This family was visiting from Texas and finished their stay at the Hotel Del.  We ended up with some very overcast skies which is so unlike August but we had a great time.  The kids didn’t disappoint with their enthusiasm.  And we got some great shots of everyone.   Here are some of my favorites:)

San Diego Child Photographer | Minis in San Dieguito Park

What a fun Saturday morning this was.  I had 5 families for some mini fun and even though it was drizzling almost to a light rain for almost the whole time… it was still great:)  Actually, shooting in weather like that is the most difficult.  Well, that and fog.  But I kind of like fog.  Drizzle… not so much.  Despite the less than stellar weather, we managed to come up with some pretty cute images.

First up is my favorite triplets.  Poor Caden wasn’t feeling his best and we didn’t get a picture of them three all together.  But we did get some really fun images of these two year olds.   Andrea, I think I have one of each of the girls here… that’s Regan with you right?  And the running?  It was so hard but I think I figured out their ponytail thing:)

This little guy is in love with golf.  I just think that is the cutest thing ever.  He was good too…. at two years old.  Amazing.  He even loves to watch golf.  He was very serious but I think we got him to crack a smile here and there.

That wraps it up.  I really had so much fun with each family in our short time together.  I hope to see you all again in the future.  Enjoy your sneak peek… more to come later.

San Diego Child & Family Photography | La Jolla, day 2

The second day of photo sessions was down on the beach just north of Wind and Sea in La Jolla.  It was a cold and kind of wet weekend but just dry enough and bright enough for perfect beach photos.  I actually do not like sunny days for photo shoots at the beach.   Overcast with a glow is ideal.  So this set of sessions was a little different than Saturday’s.  I photographed a couple of families, one mom who’s son couldn’t make it decided to come herself which is such and awesome idea (every mom should have great images of herself), a birthday boy, a family who was going to the hospital the next day to have their second little boy (congratulations you guys), and some darn cute kids.

I also couldn’t pick just one so there are at least two from each session.  I love love love location shooting.  So I definitely felt more in my element on the beach. But I think both sessions went pretty great.  Here’s day two:

We have had a few super hot days here in the beginning of this last week.  Super hot… like 95 degrees at the beach.  That is really hot for here.  Hotter than the hottest day in summer.  Now we are back to our regular low 70’s.  We lucked out with a day on the cooler side even though the beach was packed.

I love so many of these.  Actually more than I am even putting in the sneak peek:)
