San Diego Photographer | Christianne & girls

Christianne was one of my college roommates. Slater and I went to Idaho to visit our other college roommate, Allison and then we headed to Park City to visit Christianne and her girls while they were on their own little vacation. Allison and I see each other pretty regularly but I haven’t seen Christianne for a long time. At least not anything with substance. The three of us had such a great time together… better than old times. Christianne is like Martha Stewart to me. She has incredible style and I envy that in just about anyone. I have never seen the arrangements she does with flowers for weddings but I am sure without a doubt that they are amazing!  Christianne is also thinking of diving into the photography world and I think she would be so great at it.

We went on a little drive around Park City to find a few fun spots to do a session. Everything went great… except later that night when I was in Salt Lake and Christianne was still in Park City (thank goodness), I realized I was missing a very expensive lens. And figured out that it was at the old little shack on the side of the road. And then I started freaking out a little. Christianne said she would go check it out first thing in the morning and she did, bright and early. She reported back that the lens wasn’t there but there was a note. We pulled off on the side of the road close to dusk… how many people could go to this exact location within an hour of us? But thank goodness the people who found it were photographers themselves and knew the lens was a good one and couldn’t bare to leave it sitting there. Christianne picked it up for me later that day and all was right with the world again.

Anyway… long story. The pictures are a must see:)

Del Mar Family Photographer | the Andrade family, at the beach

We were blessed with amazing weather this particular evening.  Beautiful sun setting with dark clouds gathering behind us.  You just can’t ask for more… except low tide.  We didn’t have that.  That would have been the most perfect scenario.  Here are a few favorites from our session.

Cabo… our last day

There are a few people who will be very happy to see this post finally going up. These are a smattering of photos from our last day… I have a zillion more from all our days and I am hoping to get them up as well. My older boys constantly ducked the camera. It’s a miracle there are any of them. I should punish them by posting all the ones where they made crazy faces at me.

San Diego Family Photographer | the Smith family, at home

I know Lindsay is dying for this post to go up and I have to apologize for making her wait for so long.  Hopefully the wait was worth it!

Lindsay and Jamie don’t know this but they are a big reason I decided to specialize in families.  The first time I photographed their family was when their twin boys were about 8 mos old.  Their boys were in the NICU for 70 some odd days if I remember right.  Having experienced the NICU for 11 days with nothing life threatening… I can only imagine the stress and array of emotions they went through while caring for their boys in the hospital.  I think at the time I photographed them, they were still very raw from the experience.  But what touched me so much was the love they had for those boys and they shared that with me in a way that I hadn’t experienced yet photographing people.  I was so touched by them and knew my photography would take on new meaning that day.

It sounds sappy, I know but it’s true.  I see them all about every six months which has been so fun.  They’ve added another little cute boy to the mix and they were just surprised that one more little baby will be added to their family.  I can’t wait for our next session:)

I hope you guys enjoyed your sneak peek… lots more to come:)

San Diego Twins Photographer | the Rao family

Oh my goodness… these two little 3 mos old boys were so unbelievable cute.  And so good.  I could have photographed them all day long.  Such a beautiful family.  Here are a few of my favorites that jumped out at me… but I still haven’t finished looking through them all.

This next one… I love love love everything about it.  I have a thing for twin photos of one twin front and center with the other one still in the frame.  Love it:)

I have lots and lots of images from this angle in their room. It’s so dreamy to me.

and now to the beach… loved doing the dual locations

I love the timeless aspect of this next image.  When we decided to go to the beach, I had this image in mind the whole time.  It’s pretty in color but I like the vintage-y look of this too.

What is the beach without a silhouette image…
