One of my favorite things to do in the summer is go to La Jolla Shores at about 6pm with my boys and Joe. I feel so much contentment with all of us there in the warm evening at sunset. The boys are in the water most of the time and today, I actually wore my bathing suit and the water was warm enough so I went in with them.

We played a great game where we went out to where the waves broke and then had to make it back in only using our arms until our stomachs touched the sand. It was SO hard to do. But it was so fun. Sometimes I feel like I don’t really get to do much with Tucker and Dallon because my time is taken up by Slater and they are just older and more independent. It gets me kind of sad sometimes so when I have times like this in the water with them, it’s really great.

Slater loves water of any kind. He was really timid of the ocean when we would go in the spring but he is pretty into it now. He really loves digging in the sand though. Joe played with him most of the time while I was out with the boys.

I know that when we go to the beach that if I don’t bring my camera, I am always bummed because it’s so beautiful at dusk. So I brought it and I am so happy I did and you will be too:)

This first one is straight out of camera… no enchancements or color changes. I feel like I am staring straight into the sun.

The boys really wanted to try and recreate the jumping shot we did when Slater was one. This is almost exact (click here to see last year’s jumping picture… even though it isn’t exactly the same:P).
